Q: What is an Mp3?

MP3 is short for MPEG-1, audio layer 3.It's basically a digital audio file that's been squeezed into a tiny space while still maintaining high sound quality. MP3 is an open format, which means anyone can use it, and MP3 is widely recognized as the most popular format for storing music on the Web.

Q: What is a WMA?

WMA stands for Windows Media Audio (.wma). These files require the newest version of the Windows Media Player. In addition, many WMA files have been digitally protected using Windows Media Rights Manager, so you must download both the music file and a license.

Q: How Do I download an mp3 from Mp3Realm?

To download a file from Mp3Realm, on the results page click "Download" link, under the song information, or the first link above the mp3 information that's in the format of "Artist - Title"

Q: What do I play Mp3's with?

Their are various players out there. The most common for Windows platforms, are Windows Media Player, and Winamp. On linux platforms, XMMS

Q: I can't find the mp3 I have downloaded

When you download a file, you must choose a location where it will be stored. If you can't remember where you saved it, use the Find utility (of Explorer in Windows) and search for '*.mp3'. This will list all MP3 files on your hard disk. Tip: make a directory called 'MP3' where you can store all your MP3 downloads.

Q:Are MP3 files illegal?

Yes and No. Mp3 files, are legal if the copyrighted owner allows distribution freely of the file. If not, such as major labeling artists, they hold copyright for that particular song. Unfortunately, we can not determine this.

Q: Is Mp3Realm legal?

Yes, this site is legal. We just index the Internet, and store in a database the links we get. We do not host the files that are colleted, and can not determine the legibility of an mp3.

Q: Why am I redirected - Cant download?

If your download does not work, and you are redirected, to a "Not Found" page, or to another homepage, the answer is the link that was indexed, has changed. We cannot control that, please try another link.

Q: What is Shoutcast?

SHOUTcast is a freeware audio streaming technology, developed by Nullsoft. SHOUTcast uses MP3 encoding of audio content and HTTP (though multicast can be used) as the transport protocol to broadcast Web radio, also known as Internet radio.

Q: Why should I Register?

If you register, it allows you to access more features of Mp3Realm. These features include, the ability to create custom playlists, and save them on Mp3Realm's servers and download/listen to them at a later time. You will also be able to save your searches to view at a later time. More features will be comming soon .

Q: Will my information be kept private?

Yes. None of your personal informational can be see by anyone else. You however, may edit your profile any time you wish.

Q: How long are my Playlists, Searches kept?

Q: After I save playlists, can i modify them after?

Absolutely.

Q: How do I listen to the playlists?

Follow the directions on the playlist page. You may download a playlist for Winamp/XMMS (Extension of .m3u or .pls) or for Windows Media Player.
